Entrevista N-400

En la entrevista el oficial repasa tu N-400 contigo, en inglés. La parte más difícil son las preguntas «Have you ever…». Aquí entiendes qué significa cada una y practicas escucharlas.

CIUDADANÍA Y VOTO
¿Dijiste alguna vez que eras ciudadano?
“Have you ever claimed to be a U.S. citizen?”
¿Te inscribiste para votar o votaste?
“Have you ever registered to vote or voted in any election in the United States?”
IMPUESTOS
¿Debes impuestos atrasados?
“Do you owe any overdue taxes?”
¿Te declaraste «no residente» en tus impuestos?
“Since you became a permanent resident, have you ever called yourself a nonresident on your taxes, or not filed taxes because you thought you were a nonresident?”
ORGANIZACIONES
¿Perteneciste a un partido comunista o totalitario?
“Have you ever been a member of the Communist Party or any totalitarian party?”
¿Apoyaste grupos que querían derrocar al gobierno?
“Have you ever supported any group that wanted to overthrow the U.S. government by force?”
VIOLENCIA Y ARMAS
¿Ayudaste a un grupo que usó armas o explosivos?
“Have you ever been part of or helped a group that used weapons or explosives to hurt people?”
¿Participaste en tortura, genocidio o en matar a alguien?
“Have you ever participated in torture, genocide, or killing any person?”
¿Trabajaste en una cárcel o centro de detención?
“Have you ever worked or volunteered in a prison, jail, or detention facility?”
¿Fuiste parte de un grupo que usó armas contra personas?
“Were you ever part of a group that used weapons against people?”
¿Vendiste o transportaste armas?
“Have you ever sold or transported weapons knowing they would be used against another person?”
¿Reclutaste a menores de 15 años?
“Have you ever recruited anyone under 15 to join an armed group?”

¿Te han arrestado, citado o detenido?

¿Terminaste tu libertad condicional o probatoria?
“Have you completed your probation or parole?”

Drogas, bigamia, casarse por papeles, manutención…

JURAMENTO
¿Apoyas la Constitución?

¿Entiendes el Juramento de Lealtad?
“Do you understand the Oath of Allegiance?”
¿Harás el Juramento de Lealtad completo?
“Are you willing to take the full Oath of Allegiance?”
¿Tomarías las armas si la ley lo exige?
“If the law requires it, are you willing to bear arms for the United States?”
¿Harías servicio no de combate si la ley lo exige?
“If the law requires it, are you willing to perform noncombatant services in the U.S. armed forces?”
¿Harías trabajo civil de importancia nacional?
